The renaissance
ok this is pretty hilarious...
For my renaissance miss mash I've used "portrait of a man" by Antonello da Messina as my inspiration. The original painting is currently being kept at the national gallery of London in England. The painting was completed in 1476 and is oil on poplar. At the time of this painting Antonello was a pretty influential as he was one of the first people to begin using oil as a painting medium. At this point most Italian painters were only using tempera as their medium.
To get this effect on the image I photoshopped in I added a slight grain so that the photo looked more like a painting and blended easier. I also shot my subject in similar lighting that the subject in the painting had which created shadows in the right places. Lastly I adjusted the brightness and contrast of the photo to match the painting and blended out the edges.
